Pike County Sheriff’s Office Partners with Felder’s Church and Mississippi Office of Homeland Security to Enhance Safety and Security Planning for Places of Worship

Part I

The Pike County Sheriff’s Office recently partnered with Felder’s Church and the Mississippi Office of Homeland Security to provide safety and security planning training for churches and community members throughout Pike County.

A special thank you goes to Jim Brinson for conducting an outstanding training session focused on helping faith-based organizations strengthen their preparedness and security measures. Mr. Brinson is the Director/Advisor of the Mississippi Homeland Security.

A special thanks to Felder’s Church Pastor Abram Atchison, the Congregation, and Mrs. Tara Dupree for their love and commitment to Pike County.

Sheriff Bryant ‘Wally’ Jones emphasized the importance of the initiative, stating:

“When I took this office, I made a promise to the citizens of Pike County that I would do everything in my power to keep them safe. This training is a part of that promise.”

The Pike County Sheriff’s Office remains committed to working alongside community partners to ensure that churches and places of worship have the resources, knowledge, and support needed to maintain safe and secure environments for all.
