Sheriff Bryant “Wally” Jones and the Pike County Sheriff’s Office proudly partnered with the Mississippi Department of Wildlife, Fisheries, and Parks, the Mississippi Highway Patrol, and the Tangipahoa Parish Sheriff’s Office to provide security and public safety during the America’s 250 Celebration held July 3–4, 2026, at Percy Quin State Park. The two-day celebration brought together families, visitors, and vacationers from across Pike County, surrounding communities, and neighboring Louisiana to celebrate America’s 250th anniversary in a safe, family-friendly environment. “Our hats are off to the dedicated park personnel for an outstanding job of organizing and hosting an amazing two-day holiday celebration for everyone to enjoy,” said Sheriff Jones. “Events of this magnitude are only successful because of strong partnerships and a shared commitment to serving the public.” Sheriff Jones also expressed his sincere appreciation to each of the participating public safety agencies whose teamwork helped make the event a tremendous success for Pike County and the surrounding region. A special thank you is extended to the Tangipahoa Parish Sheriff’s Office for providing four mounted patrol units and four foot patrol deputies, whose presence enhanced both security and the overall experience for attendees. “This event was something special for the citizens of Pike County, surrounding counties, vacationers, and our Louisiana neighbors,” said Sheriff Bryant “Wally” Jones. “We wanted to ensure everyone could celebrate safely, and we were honored to partner with our fellow law enforcement agencies to make that happen.” Sheriff Jones encourages citizens to continue supporting community events that bring families together while showcasing the spirit of Pike County. The Pike County Sheriff’s Office extends its gratitude to everyone who attended, volunteered, and worked behind the scenes to make the America’s 250 Celebration at Percy Quin State Park a memorable and successful weekend.
