Staff

Detective Shawn Umbrello began his career in 2002. Prior to serving with the Pike
County Sheriff’s Office, he served with the Clinton Police Department and the McComb
Police Department. Detective Umbrello specializes in Traffic Accident Reconstruction,
where he is tasked with investigating fatalities resulting from motor vehicle collisions. He
is also the Commander of the Special Response Team and the supervisor of the Aerial
Intelligence Unit.
Detective Javonda Shanks began her career in 2007. She has served with the Magnolia
Police Department and the Pike County Sheriff’s Office. Detective Shanks is the Sex
Offender Compliance Officer and a member of the Internet Crimes Against Children
Task Force, tasked with investigating online child exploitation cases. Detective Shanks
served in the United States Marine Core between 2005 and 2013 as a Military Police
Officer. She retired at the rank of Corporal.
Detective Brandi Demoll began her career in 2007 with the Pike County Sheriff’s Office.
She started as a Corrections Officer and worked her way up to the Patrol Division.
Before being assigned to the Criminal Investigations Division, she served the Pike
County Sheriff’s Office as a Naroctics Investigator and a K9 Handler. Detective Demoll
is currently assigned to the Secret Service Task Force and specializes in narcotics
investigations and digital forensics.
Detective Eric Buckles began his career in 2019. Prior to serving with the Pike County
Sheriff’s Office, he served with the McComb Police Department and the Lincoln County
Sheriff’s Office. He is a member of the Special Response Team and a drone operator for
the Aerial Intelligence Unit. Detective Buckles is also an active member of the
Mississippi Army National Guard, where he serves as an M1Abrams Tank Commander
with the 198 th Armored Regiment. He began his career with the Mississippi Army
National Guard in 2014 and currently holds the rank of Staff Sergeant.
Detective Lance Falvey
Intelligence Analyst Aaron Adams began his career in 2017. Prior to serving with the
Pike County Sheriff’s Office, he previously served as a 911 dispatch operator for the
Mississippi Highway Patrol and the Walthall County Sheriff's Office. Intelligence Analyst
Adams serves the Criminal Investigations Division as an evidence custodian and civilian
investigator. He is also a drone operator with the Aerial Intelligence Unit. He and his
brother, Detective Max Adams, are second generation law enforcement members;
following in their father’s footsteps, who served the Pike County Sheriff’s Office for
many years as a Narcotics Agent.
Detective Tyler Touchstone began his career in 2014. He previously served with the
Magnolia Police Department and now serves the Pike County Sheriff’s Office as an
Arson Investigator, specializing in determining the origin and cause of fires involving
criminal damage or injury. He is also the Deputy Director of Emergency Management for
Pike County. Detective Touchstone served in the United States Army as a Military Police
Officer for the 10 th Mountain Division between 2007 and 2013. He retired at the rank of
Corporal.
Detective Carla Harris began her career in 2005. Following an internship with the FBI in Quantico, VA, she dedicated 12 years with the Department of Public Safety, rising from Intelligence Analyst to Agent in 2006. She then served 8 years as an Investigator with the Tippah County Sheriff’s Office as a Certified Investigator working Crimes against Children and CIT liaison and two years with the Walnut Police Department. Currently, she is a key member of the Pike County Sheriff's Office Criminal Investigation Division specializing in Human Trafficking,
