On August 29, 2026, deputies with the Pike County Sheriff’s Office assisted the McComb Police Department in a vehicle pursuit involving a suspect who was wanted out of Livingston Parish, Louisiana, for aggravated domestic violence.

The pursuit continued into the City of Osyka, where a Pike County Sheriff’s deputy successfully deployed spike strips in an effort to bring the pursuit to a safe conclusion.

The pursuit ultimately came to an end on Old Mill Road, where the suspect exited the vehicle and fled on foot. Pike County Sheriff’s deputies, along with officers from other assisting agencies, quickly apprehended the suspect and took him into custody without further incident.

I would like to personally thank the McComb Police Department and all of the law enforcement agencies and officers who assisted in bringing this pursuit to an end and helping get a wanted violent offender off our streets.

This is another example of what can be accomplished when law enforcement agencies work together across jurisdictional lines. We will continue working alongside our local, state, and neighboring law enforcement partners to keep Pike County and our surrounding communities safe.

The Friends of the Pike County Sheriff’s Office recently held its Organizational Meeting for the newly formed foundation, bringing together community leaders , along with representatives from local government, public safety, education, business, faith, and the legal community who are committed to making a positive difference throughout Pike County.

The meeting served as an important first step in establishing the foundation’s structure, vision, goals, and commitment to supporting the mission of the Pike County Sheriff’s Office and the communities it serves.

The Friends of the Pike County Sheriff’s Office Foundation recognizes that meaningful progress happens when people come together with a shared purpose.

The foundation is being built on the principles of teamwork, service, unity, accountability, and community partnership.
This is more than the formation of an organization, it is the beginning of a TEAM committed to serving, supporting, and strengthening Pike County.

Together, we can make a difference. Together, we can build a stronger community. Together, Pike County grows stronger!

As promised, Sheriff Bryant “Wally” Jones continues to ensure that trash is removed along state highways and county roads throughout Pike County.

We care about our county, and this effort reflects our commitment to keeping Pike County clean, safe, and beautiful.

We extend our sincere thanks to the Mississippi Department of Transportation (MDOT) and Commissioner Charles Busby for the donation of the cleanup truck. We truly value and appreciate all of our donors for their continued support.

Dear Pike County Youth, Parents, and Guardians:

The Pike County Sheriff’s Office wants our young people, parents, and guardians to understand the seriousness and potential consequences of inappropriate sexual conduct involving minors.

If you are 18 years of age or older, sexual or sexually inappropriate contact with a person under the age of 18 can have serious legal consequences. This includes inappropriate sexual conversations, text messages, photographs, videos, or other forms of sexual communication.

What may seem like “just a text,” “just a picture,” or “just a conversation” can potentially become a serious law-enforcement matter.

This type of conduct may result in an investigation, arrest, criminal prosecution, and conviction, depending on the circumstances and applicable law. A conviction can also have long-term consequences for an individual’s education, employment, reputation, relationships, and future.

Parents & Guardians, Please Talk With Your Children.

Know who your children are communicating with online and through their phones. Encourage them to immediately tell a trusted adult if someone:
Requests inappropriate or sexual photographs.

Sends sexually explicit messages or images.

Attempts to engage them in sexual conversations.

Pressures, threatens, or manipulates them to keep communication secret.

Asks to meet them privately.

Young people: You do not have to respond, and you do not have to keep inappropriate communication a secret. Tell a trusted adult and seek help.

The Pike County Sheriff’s Office is committed to protecting our children and educating our community about the dangers of inappropriate sexual behavior and online communication.

If you are convicted of a Sex Crime, you will face jail time and must register with the Sheriff’s Office every 3 months for a lifetime as a Sex Offender.

Parents, guardians, and youth—please take this message seriously. One decision can have lifelong consequences.
